As Recruitment Manager, you find the best people in the world, show them why Imperfect is the best place in the world to work, and then make sure they have the most amazing experience as an employee. This position is a one-person department that handles all sourcing and recruiting for a fast-growing socially-conscious business. You also assist in hiring and people operations tasks.

Responsibilities : 

Recruitment, Hiring and Onboarding

  • Work with managers to draft up job descriptions for upcoming roles in a playful and passionate tone that matches the Imperfect brand voice
  • Ensure that our JDs are reaching the right people, utilizing all of the available paid and unpaid communication channels that Imperfect has at its disposal
  • Manage the hiring page of our website and all of our job postings on third-party sites
  • Attend events and keep a rolodex of potential hires. Basically, know who the best people are
  • Show prospective candidates how amazingly awesome it is to work for Imperfect
  • Manage all aspects of the hiring process to ensure an efficient and smooth process for managers and prospective employees
  • Schedule interviews and screen candidates
  • Design and implement a thorough and inspiring orientation process that is consistent across all new employees
  • Stay up to date on hiring trends and competitive industry salaries
  • Table at job fairs to recruit hourly warehouse workers
  • People and Culture
  • Keep a birthday calendar and make sure we celebrate and recognize all our employees
  • Organize happy hours, field days, team bonding
  • Also serve as head of fun
  • Maintain inventory of games and other fun things for employees to do at work
  • Create and help us foster a strong rating on Glassdoor to attract the best talent
  • Model Imperfect’s values and culture and support the CEO in ensuring that everyone on the team consistently models the culture
  • Generally support other miscellaneous human resources initiatives

About You

  • You’re the person who goes to a party not knowing anyone and leaves with ten best friends
  • You can tell from a five-minute conversation what a person’s best qualities are and what makes them tick
  • You never shy away from extolling the virtues of things you love
  • You get people on board – whether it’s a weekend ski trip or an internal company project
  • Highly organized and impeccable attention to detail
  • Flawless written and oral communication skills
  • Excel at independent, unsupervised work
  • A passion for changing the food system
  • 2+ years experience in a recruiting role


  • HR background and/or degree
  • Experience in a high-growth, venture-backed company

Details of position

This position reports to the Chief Executive Officer. Full-time exempt position. Ideal start date is mid February. Salary and employee stock options commensurate with experience. Competitive benefits package.

Position is based out of our Emeryville headquarters. Interviews given on rolling basis as applications come in.
